22-yital

YİTAL / Semiconductor Technologies Research Laboratory

YİTAL is a semiconductor technologies research laboratory within the body of TÜBİTAK BİLGEM UEKAE with a clean area of 1000 m2 of class 10 and 100. It was established in 1983. It has the infrastructure to carry out all of the integrated circuit design, mask printing, integrated circuit production, wafer probing, sheathing, circuit testing and aging processes. 0.25 µm 5 metal CMOS and 0.25 µm 5 metal SiGe technologies are YİTAL's current production technologies. YITAL has reached its current position by developing unique CMOS production technologies and producing low-volume military-standard integrated circuits (IC-Integrated Circuit). Therefore, its mission is to develop original semiconductor production technologies according to Turkey's strategic semiconductor needs and to ensure the independence of the country in strategic semiconductor products by producing integrated circuits at military standards with the technologies it has developed.

About Us

YITAL developed original CMOS integrated circuit manufacturing technology in the period of 1988-1998. In 1999, the digital crypto integrated circuits in UEKAE's crypto devices were designed in YITAL and started to be produced with YITAL CMOS technology. Tens of thousands of crypto integrated circuits manufactured in YİTAL in military standards are actively and currently used in the field.

YITAL designed and launched Turkey's first contact National Smart Card integrated circuit in 2011, using its extensive experience in integrated circuit design and the knowledge of safe circuit design gained through the European Union 6th Framework Program. Contact smart cards, of which different versions have been developed since 2011, have the internationally valid EAL5+ security certificate. As the sole designer of Turkey's national identity smart cards, YİTAL developed a dual interface (contact and contactless) smart card in 2018.

Parallel PCI NTDS (Naval Tactical Data System) interface communication card has been developed with YİTAL integrated circuits. Integrated circuits of NTDS cards are produced with a 24 V CMOS high voltage process specially developed in YİTAL for this purpose.

Our Mission

Developing photodetector production processes, YITAL has been Turkey's military-standard photodetector provider since 2010. Photodetectors produced in YITAL offer higher responsiveness and wide dynamic range compared to similar products in the international market.

YITAL continues to work on designing and manufacturing multi-core original processors for special applications. A unique compiler and simulator software has been developed for the processor, which has its own machine language. The application development environment consisting of this support software and development board has been prepared to be presented to users. The first test IC for the design of the processor is under production with YİTAL's 5 metal 0.25um CMOS technology.

Within the framework of the national production of x-band transceiver modules for radars used in Turkey, the development process of the original 0.25 µm 5 metal SiGe technology has begun. In 2018, Turkey's first SiGe hybrid bipolar transistor (HBT) was obtained. With the achieved 120 GHz cutoff frequency, it has come to the point that RF circuits can be produced in Turkey for applications in the x-band. While YITAL is currently working on the development of 0.25um 5 metal BiCMOS production technology, which allows the production of digital (CMOS) and RF (SiGe) integrated circuits in a single chip, preparations for the 0.13 um SiGe technology are continuing.

YITAL is Turkey's first and only CMOS, which develops advanced semiconductor manufacturing processes and has military-standard products used in Turkey's critical applications, which are produced with these processes, and which converts a design on paper into a cased and tested integrated circuit (IC-Integrated Circuit). and SiGe is an institution that can produce integrated circuits.

EMI / EMC Test and Evaluation Laboratory

Large-scale studies on electromagnetic interference and compatibility started in 1995 at TUBITAK UEKAE (National Electronics and Cryptology Research Institute), formerly known as ETTM (EMC TEMPEST Test Center), with the support of the Turkish Armed Forces. The studies were initially limited only to the TEMPEST subject for information leakage through electromagnetic emission, but later on, within the framework of the emerging needs, all electromagnetic environment effects have expanded to encompass. Within the framework of these studies, many firsts were realized. For example, the first electromagnetic screen anti-reflective test room, which was realized with the maximum national added value, was put into service within the Turkish Armed Forces in 1999. Especially since 1999, detailed studies have been carried out on electromagnetic compatibility at the platform level.

COMSEC BG PRODUCT CONSULTANCY
In the COMSEC BG product consultancy service, information is given about the design and implementation details that need attention, specific to the product planned to be developed in accordance with the targeted confidentiality level. The main goal in COMSEC consultancy is to ensure that the COMSEC criteria are taken into account during the design and implementation stages of the products that will enter the COMSEC test.

COMSEC EDUCATION
In the COMSEC training service, information is given about the COMSEC criteria and which attack types the criteria will protect against.
