TÜBİTAK BİLGEM Institute of Information Technologies (BTE) Developed by the Republic of Turkey State Railways (TCDD) DOMESTIC system, which is the highest level of safety that can be achieved in railways, with the successful completion of the Railway Interlocking Systems International Safety Inspection. SIL4 level certified. Our systems are certified to the SIL4 safety level. Turkey's first and only interlocking system it happened.
Interlocking systems, which prevent trains moving on the same route or whose routes overlap, and ensure safe conduct of train traffic by route assignment, detection and blocking, are the most critical parts of railway signaling systems and could only be obtained from abroad for many years. As a result of the efforts to end foreign dependency in this field, TÜBİTAK BİLGEM YERLİSİNYAL developed its interlocking systems and traffic control centers locally. With the "YERLİSİNYAL" projects carried out in cooperation with TÜBİTAK BİLGEM and TCDD, railway signaling systems, which for many years could only be provided by foreign companies, have now begun to be developed with domestic resources. The activities for the dissemination of YERLİSİNYAL systems, which have ended the foreign dependency in this field, on our needed railway lines are also continuing rapidly:
- Partners – Denizli
- Malatya – Elazig
- Afyon – Karakuyu
- Isparta – Burdur – Denizli
- Kayas – Yerkoy
TÜBİTAK BİLGEM YERLİSİNYAL systems are still being developed for these line segments and are being put into use gradually. This year, work will also be started for the Torbalı - Ödemiş and Halkalı - Çerkezköy line sections.
Studies for harmonizing YERLİSİNYAL systems with European Train Control System (ETCS) Level 1 are ongoing, and the laboratory phase has been completed. This system can be installed on top of conventional signal systems installed with roadside signals and allows the installation of a standard train protection system. In this way, it will be possible to use our systems on all our railways, including high-speed train lines.
Efforts are also being made to transfer the knowledge gained in main line signaling to urban metro systems, and the development of Turkey's first domestic CBTC Metro Lineside Signaling Systems has come to the stage of completion. The system will be commissioned for the first time this year on the Gayrettepe - Istanbul New Airport Metro line.
TÜBİTAK BİLGEM YERLİSİNYAL systems, with their certified high level of safety, short implementation time and low costs, are a great achievement in making all our railways signaled.
