The Product Tracking System (\u00dcTS), developed by T\u00dcB\u0130TAK B\u0130LGEM for the Turkish Ministry of Health, Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency, has launched tracking and tracing functions for optical medical devices. This project enables medical device companies to perform their registration procedures and document reviews through \u00dcTS. In this process, approximately 17,000 medical device companies operating in different fields have registered with the \u00dcTS. In addition, more than 600 thousand medical devices were reviewed through the \u00dcTS and access to more than 500 thousand registered medical devices was provided.<\/p>\n
Individual tracking of optical medical devices has also been initiated via \u00dcTS. Manufacturer and importer companies registered to the \u00dcTS will make production notifications for the optical singular products they produce and import notifications for the optical singular products they import via \u00dcTS. Subsequently, they will notify the dispensing\/receiving notifications to the opticianry establishments via \u00dcTS and ensure the transmission of these singular products. Optical medical devices will be delivered to citizens by opticianry establishments with the notification of delivery to consumers. Thanks to the movement notifications made to the \u00dcTS, the manufacturer and the consumer will be secured. This application and business model is the first and only of its kind in the world and is considered as an important step in combating the informal economy and preventing smuggling.
