Minister of Industry and Technology, Mehmet Fatih Kacır, announced that the application process has been opened for the "Public Artificial Intelligence Ecosystem - 2023" call within the scope of the TÜBİTAK Public Institutions Research and Development Projects Support Program.
Minister Kacır stated that the call has been opened with the aim of developing artificial intelligence solutions needed by public institutions and organizations in accordance with the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy, utilizing and disseminating the accumulated knowledge in the field of artificial intelligence for these solutions.
Kacır emphasized, "In this call, where Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye Digital Transformation Office (CBDDO) participates as a customer institution, themes such as Financial Technologies, Smart Manufacturing Systems, Smart Agriculture, Food and Livestock, Climate Change and Sustainability, E-Commerce Technologies, and Smart Education Technologies have been included. As can be understood from these themes, we are paving the way for bringing artificial intelligence solutions to the most essential aspects of our lives. While achieving the goals of the Türkiye Century, we will become not only one of the countries that utilize technology best, but also one of the countries that set the agenda in this field. We stand by all researchers who engage in research, development, and efforts to benefit our country. In the light of the National Technology Move, we will collectively elevate our country to the deserved position in science and technology."
TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, who stated that the call was published by the Public Research Support Group (KAMAG), a unit affiliated with TÜBİTAK ARDEB, commented, "In this call, the consortium that will submit a project proposal needs to sign a cooperation protocol with our TÜBİTAK BİLGEM Artificial Intelligence Institute (YZE) before applying. The needs of public institutions and organizations specified within the scope of the call will be coordinated by YZE. With this call, TÜBİTAK aims to bring together institutions that generate, develop, and utilize knowledge."
The Artificial Intelligence Institute will provide support for the fundamental integration of developed solutions and will be responsible for the swift transfer of the accumulated knowledge to the ecosystem. Consortiums planning to submit project proposals are expected to sign a collaboration protocol prior to their application and present it to TÜBİTAK during the application process.
Previously, a TÜBİTAK TEYDEB 1711 Artificial Intelligence Call had been opened with a focus on the needs of the private sector, and within this framework, support had been provided for 10 collaboration platforms.
