Within the scope of the Public Research Support Group (KAMAG), a new call is being prepared for the artificial intelligence solution needs of public institutions.
The aim of the KAMAG Turkey Artificial Intelligence Ecosystem Program is to develop artificial intelligence solutions that our public institutions need, to use and disseminate the knowledge in the field of artificial intelligence already settled in university/public research centers for these solutions, to direct artificial intelligence ecosystem actors to an active cooperation model and to guide artificial intelligence to increase knowledge and experience in the field. It is expected that this program will act as a catalyst to activate the Turkish Artificial Intelligence Ecosystem and contribute to this ecosystem in many ways.
Within the scope of this program, it is aimed to achieve the following gains by activating the Turkish Artificial Intelligence Ecosystem:
- Developing artificial intelligence solutions needed by the public by our technology provider companies with university contributions,
- Transferring the knowledge in the field of artificial intelligence, which is already established in university / public research centers, into practice,
- Supporting the artificial intelligence entrepreneurship ecosystem,
- Directing the actors of the artificial intelligence ecosystem to an active cooperation model,
- Arranging the data needed in the field of Artificial Intelligence and existing in the public, and making it available to the Artificial Intelligence Ecosystem, without breaking the privacy principle,
- Gathering the knowledge to be obtained as a result of the project within the body of YZE and using it in further studies and projects. Thus, ensuring the continuity of the development of artificial intelligence in our country.
In this context, TÜBİTAK BİLGEM Artificial Intelligence Institute will take an active role in the creation and conclusion of projects, the creation of post-project knowledge and the dissemination of outputs. For this purpose, project outputs such as generalized solutions catalogue, anonymized database of usage scenarios, lessons learned and communication platform, reusable software libraries and method/tool suggestion system will be gathered under the body of AI.
Five priority areas have been identified under this program. These priority areas have been identified as follows:
(1) Intelligent Production Systems,
(2) Smart Agriculture, Food and Livestock,
(3) Financial Technologies,
(4) E-Commerce Technologies,
(5) Impacts of Climate Change.
Predictive maintenance applications such as product quality estimation and defective part/product detection, optimization of factors affecting product quality, prediction of security problems and similar applications, supply chain, artificial intelligence in the industrial internet of things (IoT) used in production. It has many applications in the field such as real-time situation analysis of production with sensors containing sensors and applying methods that reduce energy consumption. Due to the increasing critical importance of food supply and safety, artificial intelligence-based solutions to be developed in the field of smart food, agriculture and livestock are expected to bring significant benefits to the sector.
Turkey's high level of maturity in the field of financial technologies, another priority area, is expected to facilitate the integration of the solutions to be developed into the financial system. With the studies to be carried out in the thematic field of e-commerce, artificial intelligence R&D studies aimed at solving the real field problems faced by the sector and artificial intelligence applications and researches that can be done on the big data that is formed / to be formed in the e-commerce sector are aimed.
The effects of climate change, which has caused various natural disasters in our country as well as in the whole world in recent years, have been determined as another priority area, and artificial intelligence solutions to be developed for predicting such disasters and taking necessary precautions will also be supported within the scope of the program.
Applications to be opened in May are expected to apply together with the public institution in need, as well as at least one company as a technology provider, at least one university research laboratory/center or public research center/institute experienced in this field and TÜBİTAK BİLGEM Artificial Intelligence Institute.
