The "Technical Assistance Project for Improving Customs Surveillance Capacity," developed under the leadership of TÜBİTAK BİLGEM, was awarded at the Future of Cloud & AI Summit.
The "Technical Assistance Project for Improving Customs Surveillance Capacity," developed under the leadership of TÜBİTAK BİLGEM, received an award in the Machine Learning category at the Future of Cloud & AI Summit, which brought together academics and industry leaders interested in the future of artificial intelligence and cloud technologies.
During the summit, which aimed to reward the achievements of cloud computing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and related innovations, attention was given to how these cutting-edge technologies would contribute to future applications and innovation.
Additionally, on November 2, 2023, at the summit held in Istanbul, our Director of the Artificial Intelligence Institute, Dr. Mehmet Haklıdır, gave a presentation titled "Exploring the Power of Generative AI." Addressing the topic of generative artificial intelligence, Haklıdır made the following statements in his speech:
"For the widespread adoption of generative AI, transparency, openness, data security, and ethical issues are of utmost importance. Currently, generative AI operates within a narrow scope with the capacity to perform tasks that require expertise faster and in larger quantities than humans. However, the expansion into broader areas by adding dimensions such as causality has not yet been achieved. Artificial intelligence can eliminate only about 5% of jobs but can create more job opportunities. We aim to complete the Turkish large language model by the end of this year and plan to move on to fine-tuning work next year."
