The 2019-2022 National Smart Cities Strategy and Action Plan Project, led by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization and TÜBİTAK BİLGEM Software Technologies Research Institute, has started. The project aims to create, monitor and evaluate a comprehensive Smart Cities Strategy and Action Plan that aims to meet the needs of stakeholders, evaluates international practices and takes into account past experiences.
Within the scope of the project, current situation analysis, strategy and action plan formulation and monitoring and evaluation processes will be carried out. In these processes, activities such as on-site inspections, face-to-face interviews, analysis of strategy documents and legislation will be carried out. In addition, a systematic, structural and holistic approach will be adopted to ensure the coherence of strategy documents and thematic strategies created with the participation of all ecosystem stakeholders. With the completion of the project, it is aimed to create a 2019-2022 National Smart Cities Strategy and Action Plan document specific to Turkey, using a maturity model and including a monitoring and evaluation mechanism.
This project aims to determine Turkey's roadmap for smart cities. The Turkey-specific 2019-2022 National Smart Cities Strategy and Action Plan is planned to be finalized in 2018.
